Hinton Fact!

March 1960 the town added a much needed fire fighting truck. The truck was fully equipped with a 200 gallon centrifugal pump, 500 feet of 1 1/2 in hose, 300 feet of booster hose and a 600 gallon water tank. The cost was $8,800.  Its service was available to rural dwellers as well as city.

General

The Hinton Fire Department is manned by volunteer firefighters under the direction of Chief Andy Walsh. They provide assistance to the Hinton community as well as the surrounding towns and provide mutual assistance to the local ambulance, police department and Highway Patrol. For insurance use, the Town's ISO rating for the fire department is a 4/4Y.
